The pioneering Bangladeshi heavy metal and hard rock ensemble Warfaze is preparing to mark its latest professional milestone while concurrently arranging a grand musical homage to the global “King of Pop”, Michael Jackson. Established in the mid-1980s, the musical collective has successfully navigated four decades within the entertainment industry, securing a highly regarded position within South Asian rock history. On 6 June 2026, the legendary outfit will officially enter its 42nd year of continuous musical operations, celebrating the anniversary with the slated release of two fresh tracks and a major solo stadium performance scheduled for the upcoming month.
Anniversary Observances and New Musical Releases
Although the band has decided against hosting a large-scale public celebration on their precise anniversary date of 6 June, they are scheduled to perform at a private corporate engagement within Dhaka on that night. Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, the long-standing leader and drummer of Warfaze, clarified the structural arrangement, stating that the occurrence of the corporate performance on their actual anniversary date was entirely coincidental. He noted that the band members intend to mark the occasion informally during the event by cutting a commemorative cake alongside the gathered attendees.
In addition to the anniversary appearance, Warfaze is prepared to launch two distinct audio tracks over the course of June 2026. The first track is a thoroughly revised, modern rearranged rendering of their classic song “Kromosho”, which originally debuted on their critically acclaimed 1996 studio album, Jibondhara. The updated musical arrangement is expected to achieve commercial distribution before the conclusion of the month.
The second musical release comprises the official title track for an upcoming feature film. Owing to strict non-disclosure stipulations enforced by the cinema’s production company prior to its formal public unveiling, the band is presently restricted from sharing explicit contextual details or titles regarding the film project. However, the track has been slated for public release in the immediate future.
“It is going to be a brilliant show. We are currently in the midst of full-scale technical rehearsals,” observed the band leader, Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu.
Solo Concert Infrastructure and Tribute Concept
Following the anniversary activities, Warfaze will headline an exclusive solo concert on 2 July 2026 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre—historically known as the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre—located in Dhaka. The special musical event, officially titled Playlist Tribute to Originals, is being organized and managed by the events firm Brandmyth. The structural conceptualisation of the evening will involve the rock group delivering a curated setlist that balances their classic heavy metal repertoire with distinct covers of globally recognized tracks by Michael Jackson.
The management team at Brandmyth indicated that the conceptual combination of the two musical entities was deliberately timed. The organizers noted that Michael Jackson’s extensive discography has experienced a notable resurgence on international music charts following the worldwide cinematic release of his official biographical film in April. Concurrently, Warfaze is experiencing an incredibly successful operational period. Having crossed the four-decade threshold of continuous performance, the group was also recently honoured by the state with the prestigious Ekushey Padak—the second-highest civilian award in Bangladesh—for their structural contributions to the nation’s arts and culture sector.
To ensure the auditory presentation meets the high expectations of the project, the band is executing an intensive rehearsal schedule. Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu confirmed that Warfaze intends to perform approximately 10 to 12 iconic Michael Jackson songs, reinterpreted through their distinct rock style, alongside an array of their own historical hits. Furthermore, the band leader revealed plans to invite several prominent guest vocalists and instrumentalists onto the stage to collaborate during specific segments of the evening.
The event organizers have confirmed that the commercial ticketing phase for the Playlist Tribute to Originals concert will commence shortly. Admission passes will be distributed exclusively via the specialized online digital ticketing portal, Get Set Rock.
