Our creative leadership spans a rich spectrum of disciplines—including Hindustani classical music, Rabindra and Nazrul Sangeet, folk traditions, classical dance, filmmaking, recitation, and dramatic arts. Asit Kumar Dey, Chief Advisor
Asit Kumar Dey, born in 1966 in Mymensingh, is a Bangladeshi classical musician. He began his early musical training under his father, Pandit Mithun Dey, a distinguished Gwalior Gharana classical vocalist and Farrukabad/Benaras-trained tabla player. His brother, Sanjib Dey, was also a classical musician.
During his teenage years, Dey studied vocal music at the Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra in Delhi under Srimati Shanti Sharma. He later continued his advanced training under Pandit Amarnath, the foremost disciple of Ustad Amir Khan.
Dey has established a career in music education within Bangladesh. He teaches Hindustani classical vocal music at Chhayanaut and serves as an instructor and Department Coordinator in the Department of Music at the University of Development Alternative (UODA) in Dhaka.
In January 2023, Dey received the Sangeet Parampara Sammanana from Music Alliance World Wide in recognition of his contributions to music.
Seema Hamid, Chief Petron:
Seema Hamid is a prominent Bangladeshi philanthropist, social worker, and chairperson of the Youth Global Foundation (also known as Youth Bangla Global Foundation). She is widely recognised for her contributions to social development, women’s empowerment, leadership development, job creation, and environmental protection.
Through her foundation, Hamid actively promotes social, cultural, and educational advancement. The Youth Global Foundation extended patronage to 14 arts and cultural platforms operating under the Gurukul Online Learning Network. Under her direction, the foundation acts as an accelerator, providing annual scholarships to foster talent in fine arts, music, and research, while connecting local artists with international cultural networks.
In recognition of her social service, Hamid has received several international honours. In January 2023, she was conferred an honorary doctorate degree by the World University of Leadership and Management at a ceremony in Dubai. Her previous accolades include the Global Youth Leadership Award at the 2022 summit in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as the Durga Samman Award in India for her efforts in women’s development and community welfare.
Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar, Founder Producer & Editor:
Sufi Faruq Ibne Abubakar is a Bangladeshi technology strategist, social entrepreneur, and the Founder, Producer, and Editor of the Music Gurukul Network—a core division of the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). Driven by a vision to preserve and democratize South Asian musical heritage, he pioneered the integration of traditional classical music, folk performance, and modern digital pedagogy.
As Producer and Editor, Abubakar oversees the conceptualisation, production, and editorial curation of structured video tutorials, archival recordings, and open-access curricula across specialized branches, including Classical, Rabindra, Nazrul, and Folk Music Gurukuls. By connecting master practitioners with digital learning infrastructure, he has established a sustainable framework to archive, document, and disseminate traditional performing arts for global audiences.
Chief Executive:
Nishit Dey is a Bangladeshi classical sitar player representing a four-generation musical lineage from Mymensingh. He is the grandson of Pandit Mithun Dey, son of Sanjib Dey, and nephew of Asit Dey.
He initially entered classical music through the tabla before transitioning to the sitar under Sheikh Sattar Mohammed of the Imdadkhani gharana. He later trained under Pandit Ashim Chowdhury and Pandit Kushal Das.
Dey performed as the youngest sitar player at the 2014 Bengal Classical Music Festival and has given solo concerts internationally. He used to teach sitar online through Gurukul Online Learning Network. Now he looks after the whole Art & Culture Program of Gurukul Online Learning Network.
Ratan Kumar Das, Creative Director
Ratan Kumar Das is a prominent Bangladeshi tabla player and music educator. He is widely recognized for his performances in classical music concerts across Bangladesh, including appearances at Chhayanaut’s Shuddha Sangeet Utsab and events organized by the Bengal Foundation, where he has accompanied distinguished vocalists and instrumentalists.
As a primary instructor for Tabla Gurukul under the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN), Das plays a central role in digital music education. Through his video tutorials, he guides students in tabla history, instrument anatomy, stroke techniques, and classical rhythmic compositions like kayda, rela, and tukra.
Mustakim Abir, Creative Director
Mustakim Abir is a Bangladeshi bansuri (bamboo flute) performer and the Creative Art Director of Flute Gurukul, which operates under the Music Gurukul Network—a key component of the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN).
As a bansuri exponent, Abir blends traditional classical techniques with creative visual direction, as demonstrated in works such as Dakatiya Banshi. In his role at Flute Gurukul, he leads artistic concepts and instructional media designed to archive, teach, and promote traditional flute performance to broader digital audiences.
Sanghita Chakraborty, Creative Director
Sanghita Chakraborty is a Hindustani classical violinist representing the Maihar Gharana and serves as the Creative Art Director of Violin Gurukul, operating under the Music Gurukul Network—a core component of the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). Trained under Shri Debasish Chakraborty, Pandit Subal Biswas, and Pandit Indradeep Ghosh, she blends classical instrumental traditions with contemporary pedagogical techniques. In her role, she leads creative direction and produces structured digital content to archive, teach, and promote classical violin performance.
Emon Kumar Dey, Creative Director
Emon Kumar Dey is a Bangladeshi dancer, choreographer, and the Creative Director of Dance Gurukul, operating under the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). He is dedicated to preserving, performing, and promoting classical, folk, and contemporary dance traditions.
In his role at Dance Gurukul, Dey leads creative direction and curriculum development, producing structured digital video lessons and choreographies to make formal dance education widely accessible to learners. Through these initiatives, he works to archive traditional dance heritage while inspiring emerging performers.
Najmun Nafiz Khan, Creative Director
Najmun Nafiz Khan is a Bangladeshi filmmaker and the Creative Director of Film Gurukul, operating under the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). Dedicated to film education, visual storytelling, and cinematic arts, he works to bridge theoretical cinema studies with practical filmmaking techniques.
In his role at Film Gurukul, Khan leads creative direction and curriculum development, producing structured digital video lessons on cinematography, direction, and film production. Through these initiatives, he aims to archive film knowledge and nurture emerging filmmaking talent.
Kamruzzaman Rabby, Creative Director
Kamruzzaman Rabby is a prominent Bangladeshi folk singer, dotara player, and the Creative Director of Folk Song Gurukul, operating under the Music Gurukul Network—a core component of the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN).
Trained in classical and folk vocals under Ustad Nizamul Islam Khan and proficient in the dotara, he rose to national prominence through the 2016 Bauliana competition. An enlisted artist with Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, Rabby leads creative direction and curriculum development at Folk Song Gurukul. In this role, he produces structured digital learning content to preserve, archive, and promote Bengali folk music traditions for global audiences.
Promita Dey, Creative Director
Promita Dey is an accomplished Bangladeshi Nazrul Sangeet exponent and the Creative Director of Amar Nazrul, operating under the Music Gurukul Network—a core component of the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). A seasoned vocalist associated with major cultural institutions like Chhayanaut, she is widely recognized for her renditions of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s compositions.
In her role at Amar Nazrul, Dey guides creative direction and content curation, producing structured digital video performances, tutorials, and archival materials to preserve and promote Nazrul’s musical and literary heritage for learners and enthusiasts worldwide.
Hasan Saleh Joy, Creative Director
Hasan Saleh Joy is a Bangladeshi elocutionist, reciter, and the Creative Director of Bachik Shilpa Gurukul (Recitation Gurukul), operating under the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). Specialising in vocal dynamics, Bengali prosody, and standard pronunciation, he is dedicated to elevating the practice of recitation and spoken arts.
In his role at Bachik Shilpa Gurukul, Joy leads creative direction and curriculum development, producing structured digital video lessons on vocal apparatus exercises, poetic metre, and dramatic delivery. Through these educational initiatives, he works to preserve Bengali oral traditions and nurture emerging voice artists and reciters worldwide.
Roufur Rahim Pritthish, Creative Director
Roufur Rahim Pritthish is a Bangladeshi theatre practitioner, actor, and the Creative Director of Abhinay Gurukul (Acting Gurukul), operating under the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). Dedicated to the advancement of dramatic arts and theatrical performance, he specialises in characterisation, voice modulation, stagecraft, and performance techniques.
In his role at Abhinay Gurukul, Pritthish oversees creative direction and curriculum design, producing structured digital video lessons and practical tutorials designed to make formal dramatic training accessible to aspiring actors. Through these efforts, he aims to preserve classical and modern Bengali theatrical traditions while fostering a new generation of performing artists.
Dipro Nishant, Creative Director
Dipro Nishant is an emerging Bangladeshi Rabindra Sangeet vocalist and the Creative Director of Amar Rabindranath, operating under the Music Gurukul Network—a core component of the Art & Cultural Gurukul within the Gurukul Online Learning Network (GOLN). Recognized as one of the primary vocalists associated with Chhayanaut, he regularly performs at prominent cultural gatherings, including Chhayanaut’s flagship New Year celebrations and Bengal Foundation’s music evenings, and is featured in Chhayanaut’s musical archive Jagaroni.
In his role at Amar Rabindranath, Nishant leads creative direction and content curation, producing structured digital video lessons, performances, and instructional materials designed to archive and promote the musical and literary heritage of Rabindranath Tagore for learners worldwide.
