The much-anticipated concert titled “One True Sound with Anupam Roy” has been postponed indefinitely, disappointing music enthusiasts who had been eagerly awaiting the live performance in Dhaka.
The event was originally scheduled to take place on 26 June at the United Convention Centre in the Bangladeshi capital. According to organisers, the decision to defer the concert was made due to unavoidable circumstances, following last-minute directives from the relevant authorities. A new date has not yet been confirmed, though organisers have assured that it will be announced formally once circumstances allow.
In a statement, the organisers said all necessary preparations for the event had already been completed well in advance. Required approvals from the concerned regulatory bodies had also been obtained prior to the scheduled date. Despite this, the final instruction received at a late stage meant that proceeding with the concert was no longer possible. Given the situation, the decision was taken with consideration for the interests of the audience, the artist, and all stakeholders involved.
Yamaha Music Bangladesh and Triple Time Communications, in a joint statement, confirmed that full refunds will be issued to all ticket holders. The refund process will be handled through the same authorised online ticketing platform used for purchase. Organisers indicated that the process is expected to begin within 24 hours. Detailed instructions regarding refund procedures, including whether any additional action is required from ticket holders, will be communicated directly by the respective platform.
The concert had generated considerable excitement among fans, many of whom had already secured tickets well in advance to experience Anupam Roy’s popular repertoire live. Stage design, lighting arrangements, sound engineering, and other technical preparations were reportedly in their final stages before the postponement was announced.
While the news has led to disappointment among concertgoers, organisers have expressed optimism that the event will return in a larger and more refined format once conditions become favourable. They have also extended their appreciation to audiences, partners, sponsors, and collaborators for their patience and understanding during this unexpected disruption.
