Renowned Folk Fusion Artiste Anusheh Anadil Sets Record Straight

Prominent Bangladeshi folk fusion musician Anusheh Anadil hasaddressed ongoing speculation regarding her absence from the mainstream music scene, urging fans and critics not to make unfounded assumptions about her lifestyle. Clarifying her stance in a video message shared on social media, the lead singer of the iconic band Bangla revealed that her step back from major commercial concerts was driven by personal choices aimed at physical well-being and simplifying her daily routine, rather than addiction or an inability to perform.

“Don’t sit at a distance and judge me, assuming that I gave up music because of addiction or that I can no longer sing,” Anusheh stated in the video, addressing observers directly. “I am still perfectly capable of singing. I sang just a little while ago for all these women.”

She further explained that her decision to distance herself from massive stage shows stems from a conscious desire to lead an uncomplicated life. “I simply don’t perform at big concerts or sing commercially. I may have made certain decisions in my life to make things easier for myself,” she added.

This public clarification follows an earlier disclosure in July, when the singer candidly shared her ongoing battle with tinnitus—a persistent medical condition characterised by a constant ringing or buzzing sensation in the ears without an external source. Tinnitus often stems from prolonged exposure to high volume levels, inner ear damage, or age-related hearing deterioration. For musicians, the condition presents an acute challenge, as loud environments, monitor speakers, and high-decibel audio equipment can trigger severe physical pain and further exacerbate hearing degradation.

Anusheh noted that the constant noise in her ears has severely affected her hearing, making exposure to loud sounds increasingly painful. Although she initially adopted hearing aids following medical advice, she found that the amplification exacerbated her tinnitus symptoms, prompting her to discontinue their use.

To manage her health effectively, the musician has chosen to step away from the urban noise of major cities, embracing a secluded, tranquil lifestyle in peaceful surroundings. While commercial stages remain off-limits due to sound sensitivity, her passion for music remains intact, channeled through intimate, low-volume gatherings away from commercial pressure.
