Bangladeshi-American DJ and music producer Sanjoy Dev is set to return to Bangladesh following his recent performance on the FIFA World Cup stage. He will appear as a special guest performer at the opening ceremony of the TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh on 5 November.
The announcement was made in a press release issued by TECNO on Thursday. According to the statement, Sanjoy confirmed his participation through a special video message, expressing his excitement about performing in front of an audience in his ancestral homeland.
His appearance is expected to add an international musical dimension to the opening ceremony of the regional football tournament. While the championship will primarily focus on competition between national teams from across South Asia, the organisers are also seeking to make the opening night an entertaining experience for spectators.
Sanjoy recently attracted international attention with his performance of ‘Sir Sir’ on the FIFA World Cup stage. He also used the occasion to highlight his Bangladeshi heritage, wearing a specially designed jacket featuring an image of the Royal Bengal Tiger. The symbolic outfit reflected his connection to Bangladesh and helped showcase his roots on an international platform.
Speaking about his upcoming visit, Sanjoy said performing at the FIFA World Cup had been a particularly special moment in his career. However, he described the prospect of performing before people in his own country as an entirely different experience.
He said he was eagerly looking forward to sharing the excitement and joy of the TECNO SAFF Championship with the Bangladeshi audience. He also expressed gratitude to TECNO for making his visit possible.
Rezwanul Haque, Chief Executive Officer of iSmartU Technology BD Limited, representing TECNO Bangladesh, welcomed Sanjoy’s participation in the event. He said the musician had maintained a strong connection with his Bangladeshi roots while taking his music to international audiences.

The TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh is scheduled to take place from 5 to 17 November, featuring national football teams from different South Asian countries.
