Meherab Makes Musical Comeback

Once a standout voice from the widely followed reality music competition Close Up One, vocalist Meherab is set to return to the contemporary music scene after a prolonged hiatus, marking a significant new chapter in his artistic journey.

Meherab first rose to prominence in 2005 through his participation in the competition, where his distinctive vocal tone, refined musicality, and expressive stage presence quickly earned him a devoted following. In the years that followed, he established himself not only as a singer but also as a composer and music director, contributing steadily to the evolving landscape of Bangladeshi modern music.

After stepping away from regular public releases for an extended period, he is now preparing to re-enter the industry with renewed creative energy. His upcoming single, “Bhalobashte Ki Bhoy Hoy” (“Is There Fear in Loving?”), is expected to reflect both emotional depth and contemporary sonic styling, blending introspective lyricism with modern arrangement techniques.

The track’s lyrics are written by National Film Award-winning lyricist Rubiul Islam Jibon, known for his emotionally resonant writing style. Meherab himself has composed and performed the song, further demonstrating his versatility as a multi-dimensional musician. The arrangement has been crafted by music director Adib Kabir, whose contemporary production approach is expected to give the track a polished and modern soundscape.

A music video has also been produced to accompany the release, directed by Chandan Roy Chowdhury. The visual narrative features models Jaya Mirza and Tanmay Sabi, alongside Meherab himself in a key appearance. The production aims to heighten the emotional tone of the song, visually representing themes of love, hesitation, and relational uncertainty.

According to the production house Dhruv Music Station, the official music video will be released on 11 June via its digital platform and simultaneously made available across multiple streaming services, ensuring global accessibility for listeners.

Meherab has described the song as an exploration of love’s most delicate contradictions—its beauty, vulnerability, and the doubts it can evoke. He expressed that returning to music after such a long break feels both personally meaningful and creatively refreshing, adding that he hopes listeners will connect deeply with the emotional essence of the track.
