Dhaka’s live music scene embraced a new wave of creativity with the debut edition of TARA Unplugged, held on 28 November at 138 East, Gulshan 1. The event offered an intimate acoustic experience that captivated music lovers, delivering emotional depth and musical purity rarely seen in today’s fast-paced concert scene. Organised by Jannatul Ferdaus Moon, the exclusive night brought together celebrated musicians, timeless tunes, and a passionate crowd for a soul-stirring evening.
A Night of Timeless Music
The evening kicked off at 7:30 PM and ran until 10:40 PM, captivating the audience with heartfelt performances. Shuvendu–Nandita (Mosey & Co) and Animes Roy, curated by Shuvendu Das Shuvo, led the unplugged sets, taking the audience on a nostalgic journey through Romantic Melodies, Old Classics, and Bengali Folk. This marked the first-ever collaboration between Mosey & Co and Animes Roy on stage, with talented musicians accompanying them, elevating the experience to new heights.
A Vision Beyond Music
After the event, organiser Jannatul Ferdaus Moon shared her deep vision for TARA, describing it as a cultural movement designed to bridge Bengali music, literature, heritage, and values with the youth in a contemporary voice. “TARA Unplugged is just the beginning,” Moon said. “It’s the first note, the first rhythm, the first belief of this journey.”
What’s Next for TARA
Following a sold-out debut and overwhelming positive feedback, TARA is already gearing up for its next steps. Future plans include larger music festivals, community gatherings, and events blending music, literature, and visual storytelling. Through these initiatives, TARA aims to usher Bengali culture into a bold new era, where tradition meets modern innovation.
