After a long wait, the popular folk music reality show “Magic Bauliana” returns to the screen of Maasranga Television. The new season begins airing today, October 24.
The show will be broadcast every Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. The main judges for this season are Shafi Mondol, Partha Barua, and Nigaar Sultana Sumi. During the audition round, the judging panel included Tuntun Baul, Pagla Bablu, Lovely Deb, Bhajan Khyapa, Sandeepan, Kamruzzaman Rabbi, Khairul Wasi, Dolly Mondol, Diti Sarkar, and several others.
Organized for the fifth time, the show aims to bring the essence of Bangla Baul music closer to the younger generation and present it to a global audience.
With the slogan “Baul Sure Dekhao Tomar Magic” (Show your magic in Baul tunes), the program is being organized by Sun Foundation and sponsored by Square Toiletries Limited. Its mission is to introduce Bangladesh’s traditional folk heritage to the world stage. This year, more than 38,000 participants registered from across the country, from whom 40 contestants have been selected for the Mega Selection Round.
Following that, the selected participants will attend a grooming session, where they will receive training from expert mentors on singing, stage performance, and presentation skills. The competition will then progress through the Master Selection and Studio Round stages, leading up to the Grand Finale.
The show is being hosted by actress and model Aisha Khan, marking her debut as a television presenter. It is produced by Moniruzzaman Khan and Zobayer Iqbal.
