The pioneering Bangladeshi hard rock band Warfaze is celebrating its 42nd anniversary, marking over four decades of musical influence since its formation in the 1980s. The group will officially enter its 42nd year on 6 June, an occasion they plan to commemorate with the release of new material and a major solo tribute concert scheduled for July in Dhaka.
Anniversary Commitments and New Releases
While Warfaze has not organized a public gala event for the exact date of their anniversary on 6 June, they are scheduled to perform at a pre-arranged private concert in Dhaka. Group leader and drummer Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu confirmed that the band will celebrate the milestone informally with an intimate gathering and a traditional cake-cutting ceremony during the private performance.
Beyond the anniversary celebrations, the band has confirmed that two separate studio tracks are scheduled for release during June. The first project is a re-arranged, modern studio version of Kromosho, a track originally featured on their landmark 1996 studio album Jibon Dhara. The second project is an official title track recorded for an upcoming feature film. Owing to non-disclosure agreements imposed by the film’s production company, further details regarding the cinematic title remain confidential ahead of an official corporate announcement.
Solo Performance and Pop Tribute
On 2 July, Warfaze will headline a major solo concert titled “Playlist: Tribute to Originals” at the China–Bangladesh Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka. Jointly organized by event management firms Brandmyth and Mars & Co., the performance will feature the band’s original heavy metal hits alongside a specialized setlist dedicated to the global pop icon Michael Jackson.
According to the event organisers, the conceptual focus of the show bridges two distinct musical forces:
“Michael Jackson remains entirely relevant to global audiences, with his catalog returning to mainstream music charts following the international theatrical release of his cinematic biopic this April. Concurrently, Warfaze is experiencing an exceptional period in their career, celebrating over four decades of activity and recently receiving the prestigious Ekushey Padak state honour. The concert was designed to combine these legacies into a unique production.”
The operational details of the upcoming 2 July concert are structured in the table below:

The group intends to perform between 10 and 12 classic Michael Jackson tracks, and they will extend guest invitations to several external vocalists to assist with the collaborative tribute sets.
Institutional Standing and Active Line-up
The tribute concert follows closely on the heels of the band’s historic induction into the national cultural registry, having recently been decorated with the Ekushey Padak—the nation’s second-highest civilian award—for their foundational contributions to Bangladeshi music.
The current active line-up of Warfaze scheduled to perform across the upcoming anniversary broadcasts and summer concert events consists of seven stable members:
