Talha Anjum, a member of the hip-hop duo Young Stunners alongside Talha Yunus, has played a significant role in popularising independent rap music in Pakistan. His work is noted for its lyrical focus on identity, ambition and social realities. Among his widely recognised tracks are “Gumaan”, “Afsanay”, “Baaz”, “Downers at Dusk” and “Laam”. In the current year, he also released a single titled “2AM in London”.

Spotify Pakistan’s five-year analysis further indicates that more than 140 Pakistani artists experienced substantial streaming activity over the past year alone, reflecting a broad and increasingly active digital audience base for local music.

The rankings also underline the continued popularity of established figures. Atif Aslam remains one of the most prominent contemporary pop vocalists in the country, while Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan continue to command significant posthumous and ongoing streaming engagement, respectively, representing Pakistan’s classical and Sufi music traditions.

In addition to artist rankings, Spotify also published a list of the most-streamed songs over the five-year period. These include “Jhol”, “Pal Pal”, “Wishes”, “Bikhra”, “Munda”, “Tu Hai Kahan”, “Iraday”, “Kahani Suno”, “Nahi Milta” and “Pasoori”. The selection illustrates a blend of mainstream pop, indie, and fusion tracks that have contributed to shaping Pakistan’s contemporary music landscape on global streaming platforms.

Overall, the data reflects a diversified music ecosystem in Pakistan, where digital streaming continues to influence listening patterns and elevate both emerging and established artists across multiple genres.
