Music enthusiasts across Dhaka are anticipating a notable cultural showcase as the postponed ‘Wave Fest’ secures a new date on the capital’s entertainment calendar. The flagship concert brings acclaimed Pakistani band Kaavish back to Bangladesh, where they will share the spotlight with two of the country’s most established musical outfits, Shironahin and Meghdol. Organised by Prime Wave Communication, the event—rebranded as ‘Wave Fest: Enjoy the Full Moon’—is scheduled for 26 September.
The road to this performance has been marked by significant delays. Originally planned for 5 December last year under the title ‘Wave Fest: Feel the Winter’, the production was abruptly halted at the eleventh hour. Prevailing nationwide instability and security concerns at the time prevented the organisers from obtaining the necessary official permits. Following a ten-month hiatus, Prime Wave Communication confirmed the rescheduled show via their official social media channels, though the exact venue remains undisclosed due to security protocols. The management assured fans that the specific location within Dhaka will be revealed closer to the date.
Organisers confirmed that entry passes purchased for the cancelled December concert remain fully valid. For new attendees, fresh tickets went on sale over the weekend on the digital booking platform Tickify. Standard general admission passes are priced at BDT 2,999, whilst VIP tickets are set at BDT 5,499.
This show represents a swift return for Kaavish, who made their debut performance in Dhaka in January 2025. Founded in 1998 by Jaffer Zaidi and Maaz Maudood, the Lahore-based semi-classical ensemble has built a wide regional following. Since the release of their debut album Gunkali in 2009, tracks such as Bachpan, Tere Pyar Mein, More Sayaan, Nindiya Re, and Faasle have sustained their appeal across South Asia.
Joining the headliners are two prominent names from the local scene. Meghdol enters the line-up following active cross-border engagements, including their collaborative concert ‘Megher Shongge Chander Dekha’ in Kolkata alongside West Bengal’s Chandrabindoo, and their recent release Mulluk on Coke Studio Bangla. Meanwhile, Shironahin maintains a busy domestic touring schedule, backed by the launch of their latest single, Shopner Ticket.
With ticket sales underway, expectations remain high for the 26 September showcase, bridging an array of regional and local talent on a single Dhaka stage.
