For nearly a decade, mainstream commercial production companies have largely abandoned the release of traditional solo audio albums, marking the gradual decline of a physical and digital format that once dominated the domestic music industry. In an ambitious effort to reverse this prevailing trend, Dhruba Music Station is stepping forward to revive the long-dormant format with popular vocalist Kazi Shuvo’s upcoming digital solo album, “Keu Bujhlo Na”, which is scheduled for official release on 28 September.
Comprising a carefully curated collection of nine distinct tracks, the album brings together a diverse array of contemporary and traditional songwriting talents. The lyricists contributing to the project include Tarun Munshi, the late Pagol Hasan, A Mizan, Jisan Khan Shuvo, Salahuddin Shagar, Humayun Kabeer, Arif Hossen Babu, Alamin Sarkar, and Hanif Khan. Meanwhile, the melodic compositions have been crafted by Tarun Munshi, the late Pagol Hasan, Kazi Shuvo, Jisan Khan Shuvo, Humayun Kabeer, Alamin Sarkar, Ahmed Sajeeb, Adib Kabir, and Hanif Khan. Professional music arrangements have been managed jointly by Rafi Mohammad, Ahmed Sajeeb, and Adib Kabir. The project also highlights a collaborative vocal performance, with celebrated artist Badhon Sarker Puja lending her voice alongside Shuvo on one of the featured tracks.
Reflecting on the milestone during an interview with the press, Kazi Shuvo expressed immense enthusiasm, noting that bringing out a full solo album after many years feels remarkable during an era heavily dominated by standalone singles. He commended the production label for taking a calculated risk in the current commercial climate, describing the initiative as a commendable step capable of enriching the domestic audio landscape. Recalling his artistic journey, Shuvo pointed out that his career-launching debut solo album, “Shada Mata”, arrived in 2009. Over the intervening years, he has built a substantial discography comprising five additional solo projects, including “Shada Mata -2”, “Shada Mata -3”, “Mayar Agun”, and “Daga”, making “Keu Bujhlo Na” his sixth major solo studio album.
Dhruba Guha, head of the publishing label and a seasoned musician in his own right, shared the artistic vision behind the release, explaining that the primary objective is to project Bengali music onto a global platform. At a time when audio consumption faces stiff competition from visual-first media formats, Guha expressed confidence that championing full-length albums will reconnect younger generations with the intrinsic heritage, depth, and enchanting essence of traditional Bengali songwriting.
