After a prolonged break from releasing solo music, prominent Bangladeshi singer and music director Hridoy Khan is set to return with a new single titled ‘Hahakar’. The song marks his latest individual release after a noticeable hiatus in his regular musical output.
The lyrics of ‘Hahakar’ have been written by contemporary lyricist Someshwar Oli, who has gained attention in recent years within the Bangladeshi music scene. Hridoy Khan himself has composed the tune and undertaken the music arrangement, continuing his established practice of handling both composition and production aspects of his work.
The single is scheduled for release on 24 April and will be published through the artist’s official YouTube channel. According to Hridoy Khan, the decision to produce the song followed continued audience interest in his music despite his reduced output in recent years. He stated that listeners had repeatedly expressed a desire for new material and to experience the style of music that initially defined his recognition. He further noted that ‘Hahakar’ was created in response to that continued demand, with an effort to preserve the melodic characteristics associated with his earlier work. He also expressed the expectation that the new release would meet audience anticipation.
Alongside his musical work, Hridoy Khan has also been involved in film production. Earlier in the year, he released a short film titled ‘Trapped’ on his own YouTube channel. In addition to directing the project, he also acted in it. The film featured model and actress Monalisa in a leading role opposite him. The project had been in development for approximately four years prior to its release on 16 January, reflecting an extended production timeline aimed at refining the final output.
The short film also included the song ‘Shada Kalo’, which was composed, arranged, and performed by Hridoy Khan. Furthermore, he was responsible for directing the visual presentation of the film, while cinematography was handled by Ali Afroze Arnob.
