Renowned singer Masha Islam is set to make her acting debut this Eid with the film Bonolota Express, a cinematic adaptation of Humayun Ahmed’s acclaimed novel Kichu Khon. “I have always been a fan of Tanin Bhai’s work. After seeing his film Utsab, my admiration grew even more. When he was working on Bonolota Express, I initially offered to contribute behind the scenes, but he said, ‘No, I want to see you on screen.’ Soon after, I auditioned by submitting a video, and the final decision was made.”
She emphasised the significance of portraying a character from Humayun Ahmed’s writing:
“Acting in one of his stories is a tremendous honour. I have received other acting offers before, but I never felt the drive. This time, I made the choice myself—I wanted to be part of this film.”
