LONG ISLAND, N.Y. [November 28, 2025] – The age-old debate in the arts—whether great entertainers are born or made—takes on new life with Sandy Skye Netburn. The teenage multi-talented performer from Long Island has proven to be both born with the gift and dedicated to the craft. With a voice that ranges from sweetly innocent to a little bit maniacal, Sandy has just released Issues, her theatrical debut album. It arrived as a personal gift to the world on her 18th birthday this October, complete with a colourful and collectible lyric book.
Now, the singer, songwriter, guitarist, ventriloquist, and producer—known simply as Sandy—is preparing to unveil her first official music video for the album’s lead single, “I’ve Got Issues,” set for release on Thursday, November 20. The video will premiere just ahead of her performance at the 2025 NorthEast ComicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza at The Regency Hotel in Boxborough, Massachusetts over the Thanksgiving weekend (November 28–30).
Sandy has always had a passion for creation and performance. “I just always wanted to entertain,” she says. “It almost feels like I need to. I can’t go without it.” Her dedication to the arts has led her to develop an eclectic and expanding artistic world, blending music with a fascination for pop culture from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.
Her debut album Issues showcases a unique mix of acoustic folk-pop protest songs. With sharp lyrics, clever wit, and a magnetic charm, it provides listeners with a window into her creative mind. Whether performing as a solo artist, practicing ventriloquism, or hosting her YouTube podcast Sandy & Friends, Sandy’s talents are as diverse as they are compelling.
Sandy’s growing fanbase includes figures like Micky Dolenz of The Monkees and Cherie Currie of The Runaways. She’s also conducted interviews with famous artists including Lawrence Gowan of Styx, Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell of Air Supply, and actors like Christopher Knight and Danny Bonaduce.
While her music may often feature just her and a guitar, Sandy’s creative world is much larger. Issues is more than an album; it’s an invitation to join her vibrant, retro-inspired world.
“I was nervous at first, sharing my songs with anyone outside my family,” Sandy admits. “But it’s amazing to perform them live and connect with my audience.”
The album’s songs, which range from deeply personal to social commentary, reflect the complexity of growing up in today’s world. Sandy’s lyrics are often sarcastic and satirical, filled with both youthful defiance and wisdom beyond her years.
The lead single, “I’ve Got Issues,” offers a peek into her musical style, blending playful introspection with a dose of rebellion. The accompanying video, directed by Sandy herself, takes a visual trip through her mind, highlighting those little “issues” that feel overwhelming but vanish when she hits the stage.
“It’s about feeling like you’re on the edge of losing it,” she explains. “I often feel like I’m a second away from becoming a lunatic… and some people think I passed that second a minute ago!”
But Sandy embraces her madness. Her acoustic guitar serves as both shield and sword in a world full of contradictions, and the album Issues brings listeners along on a journey that’s colourful, chaotic, and real.
Highlights from the Album:
| Song Title | Description |
|---|---|
| Not Another One Like Me | A bluesy tune reflecting on how no one would be crazy enough to put up with a difficult relationship. |
| Madness Wins | A cautionary tale about how chaos is created in the world, questioning what’s good and what’s evil. |

| Tunnel at the End of the Light | A song about letting go of fears and living in the present, embracing inner peace. |
| Like The Government Does | A witty track full of social commentary and sharp observations about societal systems. |
| Hell Throws The Best Parties | A playful yet thought-provoking song with a rebellious, satirical edge. |
| Bored of Education | A reflection on the frustrations of the education system, with a humorous twist. |
Sandy’s creative journey has led her from being a fan at conventions to becoming an integral part of them. She’s eager to connect with her audience at NorthEast ComicCon, where she will perform and interact with fans. “I love looking into the eyes of individual audience members and knowing I’m singing to them,” she says. “It’s a joy to entertain and connect with people in a personal way.”
Whether performing at a convention or writing songs that resonate with listeners, Sandy continues to grow as an entertainer. She’s a little bit Carol Burnett, a little bit Noah Kahan, and a whole lot of herself. And in her colourful, kaleidoscopic world, there’s always room for more.
