The highly anticipated concert of Indian music sensation Anuv Jain, scheduled for December 12th in Dhaka, has been postponed due to security concerns. The event, organised by Hypnation, was set to take place at the Madani Avenue Courtside, a venue located 100 feet from the main road. However, the organisers took to social media to announce the suspension of the concert, citing an inability to guarantee a safe environment for both audiences and staff.
In a Facebook post, Hypnation stated, “Due to safety-related concerns, we are currently unable to ensure a completely secure and responsible environment for our audience, sponsors, partners, and ticket holders. Once the situation stabilises and we can ensure the full safety and comfort of all involved, we will reschedule the event. A new date will be announced soon.” The post also reassured ticket holders that updates regarding ticket refunds and further details would be posted on the event’s official social media pages in the coming days.
This announcement has left many fans of Anuv Jain, who is well known for hits such as “Alag Asman”, “Mizri”, and “Mawla”, disappointed and anxious. The Indian singer’s track “Arz Kiya Hai Ki” from Coke Studio India in August 2025 was a major hit, drawing millions of listeners. Fans who had eagerly awaited the December show are now questioning whether they will get their money back and when they might be able to see their favourite artist perform live.
While Hypnation has yet to detail the refund process, they have assured customers that they will release a clear refund policy soon. This is a situation that many concertgoers in Dhaka are familiar with, as the city has seen several large-scale events being postponed or cancelled in recent months due to similar safety concerns.
Earlier in November 2025, another concert, Legends Live in Dhaka, which featured Pakistani artists Ali Azmat and James, was also cancelled for similar reasons. The concert, which was supposed to be held at a convention centre near Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, could not go ahead as planned after it was denied permission by the authorities. The organisers of that concert, Asen Communication, have stated that they are considering rescheduling the event for after Eid.
With more international concerts set to take place in the coming weeks, including performances by the Pakistani band Jal, Kabir, and Atif Aslam, music lovers in Dhaka are hoping that no further disruptions will affect these highly anticipated shows.
For now, those who had purchased tickets for Anuv Jain’s concert must wait for more information regarding their refunds and the rescheduling of the show. Hypnation has promised to announce a new date and refund policy as soon as they are able to ensure a safe and stable environment for both artists and the audience.
