Odd Signature to Launch Debut Album

The Bangladeshi band Odd Signature, formed in 2017, is set to officially unveil its first full-length album, Jagat Moncho, at an upcoming concert in Chattogram. The group, which gained early recognition for its narrative-driven songs, quickly built a following among young listeners with tracks such as Mondo, Dushshopno, Hok Abar, Ghum, Tumio Paro, and Mile Ekshathe. These songs became regular features on listeners’ playlists across the country.

The band’s progression was interrupted in 2024 following a road accident en route to a concert in Sylhet. The incident resulted in the death of vocalist Piyal and left several other members seriously injured, leading to a complete suspension of the band’s activities.

After approximately a year-long hiatus, Odd Signature returned to music in May 2025 with the release of the title track of their album Jagat Moncho. In August 2025, the band held a comeback concert, marking their formal return to live performances. Since then, they have been active in both stage performances and new music production.

The upcoming concert, scheduled for 15 May 2026 at the Chittagong Engineers Institute, will serve as the official launch platform for Jagat Moncho. The event is being organised by Takeout and will begin at 4:00 PM. Content creator Antik Mahmud is listed as a guest for the programme. Tickets will be available from 5 May 2026 at Takeout outlets in Chattogram, priced at 500 Bangladeshi Taka.

The band has confirmed that Jagat Moncho will be released in an NFC-enabled CD format. During the concert, all tracks from the album will be performed live, and the band is expected to provide detailed insights into each song. Information regarding the official methods of obtaining the album will also be shared at the event. In addition, a comic adaptation of the album’s narrative has been developed by Antik Mahmud and collaborators, visually interpreting the stories behind the songs.

Band member Arnob Amitabh, who serves as vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist, described the album as a significant milestone following a long creative journey marked by both achievements and losses. He noted that producing an original album is a major accomplishment for any band, adding that the inclusion of a comic adaptation has expanded the project into a multimedia form combining music, storytelling, and visual art.

Arnob also stated that all members of Odd Signature were raised in Chattogram, which is why the formal release is being held in the city. He further indicated that the band is considering similar solo concerts in other divisional cities, with details to be announced in due course.
