Speaking about the upcoming musical journey, Imran said he and his band will leave Dhaka on 21 July and return on 29 September. Around 15 concerts have already been confirmed, while discussions are continuing with organisers to add more shows to the itinerary.
The singer described international performances as particularly meaningful because they provide an opportunity to connect with Bangladeshis living overseas. For many expatriates, he said, such concerts offer a chance to relive memories of home through familiar songs and shared cultural experiences.
“Concerts outside Bangladesh are always special,” Imran said. “Most of these events are organised by Bengali communities abroad, and it is a wonderful feeling to perform for people who have been away from their homeland for years. We recently completed a successful tour of Australia, which was a fantastic experience. Now we are looking forward to performing in the United States. Around 15 or 16 shows have already been confirmed, and that number may still increase.”
The Bolte Bolte Cholte Cholte singer also pointed to the cultural diversity of the United States, noting that every state has its own unique community and social character. While Bengali expatriates make up the core audience, people from other cultural backgrounds also attend many of the concerts.
Imran said this diversity influences the band’s performances. Rather than presenting the same set at every venue, the musicians adapt their compositions and stage arrangements to suit different audiences, ensuring listeners from various backgrounds can enjoy the performances.
One distinctive feature of Imran’s recent overseas engagements is his decision to tour with his full band instead of performing as a solo artist. He believes that live performances with a complete ensemble allow audiences to experience his music in its intended form, with richer instrumentation and more authentic arrangements than smaller line-ups or backing tracks can provide.
According to the singer, this approach has been well received by audiences abroad, who appreciate hearing his songs performed with the energy and musical depth of a full live band.
Looking beyond the United States tour, Imran revealed that discussions are already underway for performances in several other countries. A major concert in Malaysia is currently being planned, while preparations are also progressing for a European tour next year, reflecting the steady expansion of his international concert schedule.
Over the past decade, Imran Mahmudul has established himself as one of Bangladesh’s leading contemporary musicians, earning widespread acclaim for his romantic ballads and modern pop songs. His concerts consistently attract large audiences, while his growing popularity among the Bangladeshi diaspora has made international tours an increasingly significant part of his career.
The iKings line-up features Imran Mahmudul as lead vocalist, alongside Sajal Kumar Saha on drums, Kaiyum Khan on keyboards, Rajib Ghosh on lead guitar, and Jahangir Alam Jony on bass guitar. Together, the band is expected to deliver a series of live performances celebrating contemporary Bangladeshi music for audiences across the United States during their upcoming tour.
