Prior to the event, FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasised that the halftime showcase was designed to extend beyond mere entertainment, serving as a platform to convey messages of unity, education, and global solidarity.

This financial arrangement mirrors the long-standing model employed by the NFL. The American league covers production overheads rather than paying appearance fees, offering artists unparalleled global television exposure in return. FIFA has now adopted that exact playbook, seamlessly merging commercial entertainment with humanitarian advocacy on sport’s grandest stage.
