A poignant musical tribute highlighting women’s journeys has been released with the song “Nari Jabe Bari”. Written by the esteemed lyricist Shahid Mahmud Zangi and composed by veteran musician Pilu Khan, the track unites the voices of contemporary singers Somnur Monir Konal, Antara Rahman, and Masha Islam. Together, their harmonies form a moving anthem that reflects the struggles, resilience, and aspirations of women across generations.
The song’s arrangement has been thoughtfully crafted by Mir Masum, while its accompanying animated video is directed by Mir Hisham and Saraf Chishti. Timed to coincide with International Women’s Day on 8 March, the track will be available on all major audio streaming platforms worldwide. The video is set to appear on Azab Records’ YouTube channel, as well as the social media accounts of the participating artists, providing a visual narrative that complements the song’s lyrical themes and broadening its global reach.
Speaking about the song, Shahid Mahmud Zangi shared:
“Women spend their lives seeking a place to call their own. Sometimes it is their father’s home, sometimes their husband’s, and sometimes their son’s. But do they ever truly find their own space? This song explores that timeless question, reflecting the enduring search for identity and belonging that many women face.”
Composer Pilu Khan reflected on the project, saying:
“Over the past four decades, I have collaborated with Zangi on a wide range of musical themes. This time, we have introduced another dimension by focusing on women’s lives and experiences. I hope the song resonates deeply with listeners and encourages reflection on its message.”
Singer Somnur Monir Konal expressed her excitement about the collaboration:
“I am thrilled to sing alongside two legendary figures. Working with Zangi and Pilu is a defining moment in my musical journey and an experience I will cherish forever.”
The song’s release is regarded as particularly timely, honouring women’s courage, resilience, and enduring quest for recognition and autonomy. Its animated video promises to visually amplify the song’s themes, emphasising both the emotional depth and societal dimensions of the narrative. By combining contemporary vocal talent with the experience of established music veterans, “Nari Jabe Bari” bridges generations and genres while delivering a socially conscious message.
