Unreleased Lucky Akhand Composition Released

A previously unreleased composition by Lucky Akhand has been brought into circulation, adding to the catalogue of works the late musician had composed but not published during his lifetime. The song, titled ‘Na Dukkho Diye’, features lyrics written by Golam Morshed and has been performed by singer Swaralipi.

The track has been released on the official YouTube channel of the production company Gaan Janala. Musical arrangement for the song has been carried out by Sajib Das, while the accompanying music video has been directed jointly by Rumki Rusa and Mashrur Hossain.

Speaking about the release, Golam Morshed stated that he had written numerous songs for Lucky Akhand, several of which remain unpublished. He described ‘Na Dukkho Diye’ as one of his most cherished works, noting that it ranks among his three favourite songs that he has written. He also expressed optimism regarding the reception of the track, highlighting Swaralipi as a promising artist of the current generation and expecting the song to resonate with listeners.

Swaralipi, in her remarks, described the opportunity to perform a composition by Lucky Akhand as a significant milestone in her career. She noted that while artists often perform many songs, certain works hold personal significance and contribute to artistic fulfilment. According to her, this particular song represents such an experience and is likely to remain a meaningful addition to her repertoire.

Earlier, on 15 April, another song composed by Lucky Akhand and written by Golam Morshed, titled ‘Jar Kachhe Mon Rekhe’, was released. The timing of these releases coincides with the commemoration of Lucky Akhand’s death anniversary on 21 April. The musician passed away in 2017 after a prolonged battle with lung cancer.

Golam Morshed confirmed that several additional compositions by Lucky Akhand remain in his possession. From this collection, he has recently facilitated the release of two songs in succession, bringing previously unheard works of the late composer to the public. These releases contribute to preserving and extending the musical legacy of Lucky Akhand, whose compositions continue to attract attention years after his death.
