Renowned for his multi-layered creativity in contemporary Bangla music, Shafik Tuhin has once again returned to the spotlight with a new musical offering that underscores his sustained artistic evolution. Over the years, Tuhin has built a distinctive identity as a lyricist, composer and vocalist, a rare combination that allows him to retain complete creative control over his work. On 16 January this year, he released several new songs under his own musical arrangements, reaffirming his commitment to originality and consistency. Continuing that sequence, his latest composition, Obujh Premer Satkahon, has now been unveiled to listeners.

The song is voiced by Canada-based singer Safina Karim, whose enduring connection with Bangla music remains strong despite her life abroad. Known among expatriate audiences for her emotive delivery and restrained vocal expression, Safina brings a quiet intensity to the song. Her voice blends seamlessly with Tuhin’s lyrics and melody, creating a soft, intimate soundscape that highlights the simplicity and emotional honesty of love. Rather than relying on vocal ornamentation, the performance draws its strength from subtle phrasing and emotional clarity, making the song both accessible and affecting.

Music arrangement for Obujh Premer Satkahon has been crafted by young music director Salman Zaim.
