Renowned singers Bappa Majumdar and Somnur Monir Konal, who have been consistently performing on stage and capturing hearts with their soulful voices, will be participating in a special event—‘Uts Sondhya 2025’. The event, which is dedicated to underprivileged children, aims to raise funds and awareness for their welfare. This remarkable musical evening will take place today at the Shaheed Abu Saeed International Convention Centre in Shahbagh, Dhaka, organised by the charitable organisation ‘Uts Bangladesh’.
The purpose of ‘Uts Sondhya 2025’ is not only to raise funds for underprivileged children but also to increase awareness about their rights to safety, love, and opportunity. Bappa Majumdar, speaking about the event, said, “As an artist and musician, I feel a deep sense of responsibility towards my country and society. Whenever the opportunity arises to contribute to the well-being of people, I try to do so through my work. I am hopeful that this event will play a role in helping ‘Uts Bangladesh’ achieve its goals.”
Konal, equally passionate about both music and children, expressed, “I love music, but my love for children is even deeper. I’ve always sought to combine the two, and ‘Uts Bangladesh’ has given me the chance to do just that. This organisation is dedicated to empowering vulnerable children by providing them with education, shelter, and holistic care. It feels incredibly rewarding to perform at an event like this, where we can contribute to a meaningful cause.”
The organisers also revealed that the event will kick off at 6:30 PM, with the gates opening for the audience before the performances begin. Bappa will be performing his classic hits, including a special rendition of ‘O Priyotoma’ arranged by himself. Konal is confident that the evening will be a success and will help raise significant support for the children.
In other news, Bappa Majumdar has recently returned from a tour of North America and is busy working on new solo tracks and upcoming projects. These will be released later this year and into the early part of 2025. Meanwhile, Konal continues to stay busy with playback singing for films, releasing solo and duet tracks, and performing regularly on stage and television.
