US Concert to Honour Ayub Bachchu’s Legacy

A Bengali rock concert titled Ghor Chhara Ek Shukhi Chele will be held on November 7 at the Falls Church Auditorium in Virginia, USA, to celebrate the legacy of the legendary musician Ayub Bachchu. The event is part of the DMV Bangla Rock Festival series and aims to commemorate the timeless impact of Bachchu’s powerful vocals, electrifying guitar performances, and iconic songs that continue to resonate across generations.

The tribute concert will feature performances by bands Bibagi, Cronage, Jotil, Shadow Dreams, and Rafi Alam & his band, who will bring Bachchu’s classic hits to life on stage. Special appearances will include former LRB member, singer, and music arranger SI Tutul, along with Swapan, the founding member and bassist of LRB, as a special guest. The event is being organised by Rosario Mediaworks.

The concert will kick off at 7pm local time and run late into the night. Alongside the musical performances, the evening will include recitations, discussions, and other special segments. One of the highlights of the night will be a reunion of Ayub Bachchu’s long-time bandmates, Swapan and Tutul, as they perform together in tribute to their late friend and collaborator.

Meanwhile, the Ayub Bachchu Foundation has launched a series of initiatives to preserve and promote the musician’s legacy, particularly among younger audiences. These initiatives include plans for a memory museum, tribute concerts, honours in his name, and the release of nearly 200 previously unpublished songs.

“Our only wish is to keep Ayub Bachchu alive in people’s hearts, by honouring the love he shared through his music,” said Abdullah Al Masud, general secretary of the Ayub Bachchu Foundation. This sentiment was echoed by the Foundation’s chairperson, Ferdaus Akhtar Chandana, along with their children, Fairooz Safra Ayub and Ahnnaf Tazwar Ayub.

Fans worldwide continue to express their admiration for Ayub Bachchu on social media, reinforcing the belief that great artists never truly fade away—they live on through their work.
