Bangladesh’s premier rock-metal band, Warfaze, has announced the temporary suspension of their highly anticipated “Forty Years Legacy Concert Tour,” which was designed to celebrate four decades of their musical journey. Following a series of successful performances across the United States, Australia, and Canada, the sudden postponement of the tour in Bangladesh has left fans across the country disheartened.
In an official statement, the band expressed, “Dear fans, our ‘Forty Years Legacy Concert Tour’ was successfully completed in the United States in 2024, in Australia earlier this year, and in Canada during September and October. We had planned to launch a nationwide tour in Bangladesh from the end of October, including a special gala concert in January. Discussions with several event management agencies were concluded, numerous artists had expressed interest, and sponsors were fully on board. However, due to the current overall situation in the country, obtaining the necessary permissions has proven impossible. Numerous concerts are being postponed or cancelled at the last minute, causing significant challenges for both artists and organisers. Considering these circumstances, we do not believe it is feasible or prudent to proceed with the concerts at this time.”
The statement further conveyed, “We remain hopeful that by the end of next year, conditions will improve, allowing us to plan new concerts. We sincerely apologise to our devoted fans for being unable to hold the nationwide tour and gala concert at this time.”
Warfaze has been a cornerstone of the Bangladeshi music scene for four decades, reaching a milestone on 6 June last year. Throughout this period, the band has maintained its popularity through concerts in every corner of the country, album releases, and special events. The “Forty Years Legacy Concert Tour” was intended to commemorate and highlight the band’s extraordinary musical journey.
While the temporary suspension is undoubtedly disappointing for fans, it has not diminished their anticipation.
