New York–based hyperpop artist Underscores has released a brand-new single titled “Do It”, accompanied by a striking self-directed music video. In the visually charged clip, the 25-year-old artist performs intricate choreography alongside two dancers, as flashing lights illuminate the scene and the explosive energy of the track literally blows people out of their chairs.
April Harper Grey, known professionally as Underscores, began releasing music more than a decade ago as a preteen. After self-releasing three EPs and her debut album Fishmonger in 2021, she followed up with Wallsocket in 2023 via Mom + Pop. The new single “Do It” will appear on her forthcoming third album, which is yet to be titled, alongside “Music”, released earlier this year in July.
Over the past year, Underscores has also collaborated with several artists, including the Umru track “Poplife”, a reimagined remix of Yaeji’s “Booboo” featuring Aliyah’s Interlude titled “Booboo2”, and “Harvest Sky” with Oklou from Choke Enough, which recently received a deluxe edition.
With “Do It”, Underscores continues to expand her distinctive sound—one that fuses experimental electronic elements with emotional intensity—cementing her place as one of the most innovative voices in today’s hyperpop scene.
