Pop superstar Taylor Swift has once again reached a major milestone on Spotify, with her latest song ‘Patient Zero’ setting a new streaming record on the platform. According to Spotify figures cited in the report, the track became the most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day in 2026.
Swift released an expanded edition of her album ‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore’ last Friday, adding four new tracks: ‘Patient Zero’, ‘Cleveland!’, ‘Pink Clouding’ and ‘Babylon’. The release generated an immediate response from listeners, with all four songs occupying the top four positions on Spotify’s ‘Top 50 Global’ chart soon after their release.
Early streaming figures showed that ‘Patient Zero’ had attracted more than 13.7 million streams. ‘Cleveland!’ recorded more than 9.6 million, while ‘Pink Clouding’ surpassed 8.7 million and ‘Babylon’ crossed 8.4 million streams. Combined, the four newly released tracks accumulated more than 40 million streams during the initial period, underlining the scale of interest surrounding the expanded album.
The performance of ‘Patient Zero’ also adds to Swift’s long-standing presence at the top of music streaming charts. Streaming platforms have become a major measure of the immediate response to new music, allowing artists to reach audiences across different countries at the same time.
