Closeup One star and singer Salma has released a new song titled ‘Prem Leela’, featuring singer Biplab Saha. The romantic duet has been accompanied by a music video that combines the emotional theme of love with elements of traditional Bengali culture.
Released under the banner of Bishwarang Presents, ‘Prem Leela’ features lyrics by lyricist Nirmal Das, while Rajan Saha has composed and arranged the music. Salma’s familiar vocal style is paired with Biplab Saha’s distinctive delivery, creating a different musical character for the duet.
The arrangement has been designed around themes of love and emotion. Rather than relying solely on the romantic mood of the song, the accompanying music video also places considerable emphasis on Bengali cultural aesthetics. Traditional clothing, folk-inspired styling, an artistic set and various cultural elements have been incorporated into the visual presentation.
Biplab Saha has also taken responsibility for directing the music video, giving him a role both in the vocal performance and the visual production of the project.
Anik Chanda handled cinematography, while Zakaria Masud Rony was responsible for make-up. The editing was completed by Rakib Ahmed, with colour grading by S M Tushar. Together, these production elements were used to create a visual setting that complements the song’s romantic theme while retaining a distinctly Bengali atmosphere.
Salma has remained a familiar name among Bangladeshi music audiences since gaining recognition through the Closeup One musical competition. Over the years, she has performed songs across different styles, with her voice particularly associated with emotionally driven and folk-influenced Bengali music. Her collaboration with Biplab Saha on ‘Prem Leela’ brings together two contrasting vocal approaches within a single romantic composition.
The music video also reflects an effort to connect contemporary song production with elements of local cultural heritage. The use of traditional attire and folk-inspired visual details provides a setting that corresponds with the song’s central theme, while the production design adds a visual dimension to the musical arrangement.
‘Prem Leela’ has already been released across digital platforms. The accompanying music video is also available through Bishwarang’s official YouTube and Facebook platforms, allowing listeners and viewers to experience both the song and its visual presentation.
Speaking about the release, Salma said the song would offer listeners a different kind of musical experience. She also highlighted the combination of the lyrics, composition and arrangement, as well as the way Bengali heritage has been presented through the music video.
“I believe listeners will find a different flavour in this song. The lyrics, composition and musical arrangement have come together beautifully, while the music video presents Bengali heritage in an aesthetic way. I hope the song will appeal to the audience,” Salma said.
With its duet format, romantic subject and Bengali cultural imagery, ‘Prem Leela’ marks a fresh collaborative presentation from Salma and Biplab Saha. The project brings the musical performance and visual storytelling together, placing love and traditional Bengali aesthetics at the centre of the release.
