Bangladesh’s celebrated singers Runa Laila and Bappa Mazumder are set to be heard together for the first time in a duet featuring a Bengali ghazal-style composition. The song, titled “Onayase”, has been written by Syed Galib Hasan and represents a distinct musical collaboration between two generations of prominent artists.
The announcement was made recently by Runa Laila through a video message, which she also shared on her verified Facebook page on Friday, 24 April. In her statement, she explained that the song was initially intended to be recorded as a solo performance by her. However, after listening to Bappa Mazumder’s composition and musical arrangement, she proposed that it be developed as a duet.
