Romantic Dance Track ‘Basantar Kokil’ Gains Popularity

In the midst of an ongoing wave of football enthusiasm that has dominated much of the public attention, a new romantic dance number, Basantar Kokil, has managed to carve out its own space among listeners. The track, performed by Sithi Saha, has quickly emerged as a talking point within music circles since its release, drawing a steady stream of views and engagement within its first day.

Released under the banner of Anupam Music, the music video registered more than eighty-one thousand views within twenty-four hours of going live. While modest by global viral standards, the figure is being viewed within industry circles as a positive indicator for a domestic romantic release, particularly in a market where digital attention is highly competitive and often short-lived.

The music video stands out for its vibrant visual design and choreographed presentation. Dancer and performer Alankar Chowdhury brings a dynamic screen presence, with expressive movement that anchors much of the visual narrative. Alongside him, Shifat Amin Shubho appears in a key supporting role, contributing to the storyline-driven format that shapes the video’s progression. The overall treatment leans heavily on a festive, seasonal mood, aligning with the song’s romantic tone and its “spring-inspired” aesthetic.

The lyrics were written by Ronok Rayhan, whose writing complements the light, melodic structure of the composition. Music direction and composition were handled by Akash Sen, a creator known for earlier popular numbers such as “Dustu Kokil”, “Priyotoma”, and “Maya Maya Lage”. His signature style—balancing catchy melodies with rhythmic arrangement—continues to be evident in this latest production, which blends contemporary pop elements with traditional romantic motifs.

Speaking about the release, Sithi Saha described the experience of recording the song as particularly enjoyable. She noted that the combination of lyrics, composition and arrangement gave the piece a lively character that translated naturally into performance. Early audience response, she added, has been encouraging and has further motivated her as an artist.

The video was directed, shot and edited by Chandan Roy Chowdhury, whose visual approach emphasises colour, movement and emotional pacing. The spring-themed backdrop plays a central role, helping to create a sense of warmth and romantic lightness throughout the narrative.

Anwar Hossain, head of Anupam Music, remarked that the initiative is part of a broader effort to promote original music at a time when the industry has seen a relative decline in frequent new releases. According to him, productions like this aim to balance quality presentation with accessible entertainment, offering audiences something fresh within the romantic genre.

Taken together, “Basantar Kokil” positions itself not merely as a seasonal song, but as a carefully crafted audiovisual piece seeking to sustain attention beyond its initial release window.
