Rajib and Liza Record Theme Song for World Population Day

Popular contemporary vocalists Rajib and Sanjida Mahmud Liza have joined forces to record a special theme song ahead of World Population Day. The recording session took place on 2 July at the private studio of the acclaimed composer and music director, Foad Nasser Babu. This musical initiative is part of an annual advocacy campaign designed to communicate essential public health messages and raise awareness about demographic challenges through art.

The track features evocative lyrics penned by lyricist Dipak Kumar Saha. Opening with the poetic verses, “Eshechhe notun bhor, khulechhi shebar dor, notun shishuke kori abahon, jonne rotno mele, nirapod sheba pele, tar hashitemi hashe e bhubon,” the song reflects on themes of maternal care, healthcare access, and child welfare. Foad Nasser Babu managed the music composition and arrangement for the project. Following the studio session, he commended both vocalists, noting that Rajib and Liza are exceptionally talented performers who delivered a refined performance that aligns perfectly with the emotional core of the composition.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, Rajib stated that collaborating with Foad Nasser Babu is always a privilege. He observed that the composer’s work carries a unique depth, and he expressed confidence that the public would connect with the melody and the underlying message. Liza shared similar sentiments, praising the seamless coordination between the lyrics and the composition. She noted that the melody resonated with her during the performance, adding that being part of a socially conscious initiative brought a distinct sense of fulfillment.

World Population Day is observed globally on 11 July to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, including family planning, gender equality, and maternal health. Incorporating cultural elements, such as theme songs, has become a standard approach for public institutions in Bangladesh to engage the public during national awareness campaigns. The newly recorded track is scheduled to be broadcast across various state and private television channels as part of the official media programme for the day.
