Pritom Hasan Steps Back Temporarily

Pritom Hasan, who established a distinct place in Bangladesh’s music industry at a young age through his acclaimed contributions to several successful film soundtracks, has announced a temporary withdrawal from playback singing for cinema. The decision has sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms, with audiences expressing curiosity about his next artistic direction.

In a recent interview, Hasan explained that his prolonged engagement with film-based music had begun to feel creatively restrictive. He observed that working within the structural demands of mainstream cinema music can, over time, limit an artist’s freedom of expression. According to him, remaining confined to a fixed format risks slowing down creative growth, which he considers essential for any musician seeking long-term artistic development.

He further emphasised that independent music remains the space closest to his artistic identity.
