A decade-long hiatus in the studio has finally come to an end for two prominent figures in the Bengali music scene. Popular young composer Murad Nur and National Film Award-winning vocalist, lyricist, and composer Muhin Khan have joined forces once again, bringing their distinctive artistic styles together for a brand-new musical project that has already generated considerable excitement among fans across both Bengals.
The track, a melodious rock-infused number titled “Chol Ekdin Pakhi Hoi”, features poetic lyrics penned by Dr. Ruksana Parveen Surma, a physician by profession whose creative writing has steadily carved out a dedicated following. The musical arrangement and orchestration have been expertly handled by seasoned music director Mushfiq Litu, adding depth and a polished finish to the composition.
Reflecting on this long-awaited reunion, composer Murad Nur shared that their last audio collaboration dates back ten years, when Muhin lent his vocals to a mixed album featuring Nur’s compositions. Expressing delight at returning to the recording studio alongside his close friend, Nur noted that he has previously set several of Dr. Surma’s poetic works to music, all of which received warm public appreciation. He remains optimistic that this latest collaboration will resonate just as strongly with listeners.
Sharing his perspective on the project, vocalist Muhin Khan expressed admiration for Dr. Surma’s ability to balance a demanding medical career with creative writing. Lyricist Dr. Ruksana Parveen Surma acknowledged that her heavy professional schedule as a doctor often leaves her with limited time for creative pursuits, despite her passion for writing. She revealed that Murad Nur had previously selected several of her poems to compose, with “Chol Ekdin Pakhi Hoi” being one of them. She praised Muhin Khan for delivering a captivating vocal performance that brings her verses to life, expressing hope that the release will touch the hearts of music lovers everywhere.
