Lamb of God Drop Punishing New Single ‘Parasocial Christ’

Lamb of God have unleashed a new single, Parasocial Christ, a relentless three-minute assault that once again pairs the Richmond metal giants with long-time producer Josh Wilbur. This standalone track follows the success of Sepsis, which has dominated the U.S. metal charts for the past two weeks.

Accompanying the release is a stark, desaturated music video directed by Jon Vulpine. The unsettling visual style mirrors the song’s intensity, capturing the descent of a man into madness. The video and song align with the track’s critical commentary on the attention economy, social media, and the commodification of personal lives.

A Stark Critique of the Attention Economy

Vocalist Randy Blythe shared the themes behind Parasocial Christ, offering a sharp critique of the modern digital age: “The Information Age has birthed the attention economy, an industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars anchored in keeping eyeballs glued to screens.” He continued, “Every second spent clicking and scrolling through the trivial details of other people’s lives, people that you’ll never meet – celebrities, politicians, influencers – is another dollar in some already obscenely wealthy tech bro’s wallet.”

Blythe went on to explain that the track is a call to action: “You are a product, and you are being sold in a marketplace you have no share in.” He urged listeners to take a step back from the digital noise and reconnect with the real world: “Put down the phone and go live your life – it’s waiting for you out in what’s left of the real world.”

Tour Announcement and Upcoming Events

Parasocial Christ coincides with the on-sale for Lamb of God’s Spring 2026 North American tour, featuring support from Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. The tour kicks off in March 2026, and tickets and VIP packages are available now via the band’s website.

Guitarist Mark Morton teased the tour as “the loudest, proudest, floor-shakin’-est, earth-quakin’-est, mosh pittin’-est, undiluted, undisputed HEAVIEST tour of the whole damn year.” He also added, “Is this the largest collection of RIFFS ever assembled under one roof? It would seem so.”
