On Thursday, the renowned cultural troupe Kranti Shilpigoshthi organised an event titled ‘Haimantik Sandhya’ at the Chhayanat Auditorium in Dhaka. The event was presided over by eminent cultural activist Nilufar Jahan Chinu, while the general secretary of Kranti Shilpigoshthi, Jharna Alamgir, served as the moderator.
Among the distinguished guests were Mizanur Rahman Mizan, President of the Gana Sangeet Samanway Parishad, and cultural activist Fakir Siraj, along with other notable figures from the cultural scene.
The programme featured a diverse range of performances, including group songs, recitations, dance, and magic acts. Performers included Kranti Shilpigoshthi, Bahnishikha, Satyen Sen Shilpigoshthi, Surtal, magician Sadat Mamun, and recitation artist Masum Azizul Bashar.
In her speech, Nilufar Jahan Chinu stated, “Let culture be a tool for social change.” She emphasised that Haimantik Sandhya was a continuation of the ongoing efforts by Kranti Shilpigoshthi to foster cultural development. She further added that the talent and creativity displayed by the young performers added a new dimension to the evening’s programme.
Jharna Alamgir also spoke at the event, stating, “Such events are crucial for regularising cultural practices. The combined efforts of the performers, audience, and organisers have made this evening special.”
The event was attended by media personalities, cultural activists, and audiences of all ages, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
