Katy Perry is giving fans a glimpse into the future of her music as they eagerly await the next phase of her career. When asked about the possibility of her recent hit “Bandaids” featuring on her upcoming album—widely referred to by fans as KP7—the pop star responded thoughtfully, offering a deeper insight into the creative process.
“This song really encapsulates just what’s going on in my life at the moment,” Perry explained. “Whether it marks the start of a new path or not, I think what it’s truly doing is clearing the way for the next stage of my journey.”
“Bandaids,” which was released on November 6, 2025, is a poignant pop-rock ballad that reveals a more vulnerable side of Perry’s artistry. Co-written with Kiddo Ibañez, the track was produced by a team of talented creatives, including Justin Tranter, Sean Cook, Russ Chell, and Eren Cannata. The song delves into themes of heartbreak and the emotional turmoil that follows the end of a relationship. Accompanied by a visually striking music video, co-directed with Christian Breslauer, the clip features surreal imagery inspired by the film “Final Destination,” depicting a chaotic emotional spiral.
The song has already made waves in the charts, entering the top 75 in both the UK and Canada, cementing its early commercial success.
Released just a year after Perry’s previous album, 143, which dropped on September 20, 2024, “Bandaids” signals a shift in her musical direction. 143 marked her return to a more dance-pop sound, reminiscent of her earlier work. Collaborating with industry heavyweights such as Max Martin, Dr. Luke, and Stargate, Perry created what she called a “dance party album.” 143 debuted at number six on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart and reached the top ten in eight countries. In December 2024, she released a digital reissue titled 1432 (I Love You Too), which included four new tracks, including the fan-favourite “OK.”
Since April 2025, Perry has been touring globally with her Lifetimes Tour, which has already seen the debut live performance of “Bandaids” in Lyon, France, in November 2025. As she continues to evolve and experiment with her music, fans can expect exciting new developments as the pop icon charts the next chapter of her musical journey.
