Honey Singh has released the official music video for his track One Thousand Miles, just a day after landing in legal trouble over the controversial lyrics of his song Millionaire. The rapper-singer shared the new music video on Instagram alongside T-Series, hours before it dropped on YouTube, following a legal summons from the Punjab State Women’s Commission over allegedly misogynistic content in Millionaire.
The music video for One Thousand Miles marks a dramatic release for Singh, who has recently faced backlash for the lyrics in his comeback song. In a post made on Instagram, Singh wrote: “One Song, Endless Love! #OneThousandMiles Video out now #tseries #BhushanKumar @yoyohoneysingh @mandy.takhar @itsrdm @rdmmedia @mihirgulati,” and shared a video link to the new release. The track, which has been a long-awaited follow-up, seems to carry a different tone from Singh’s previous work.
On Thursday, the Punjab State Women’s Commission issued a notice to Singh after taking cognisance of the controversial lyrics of Millionaire. The song was criticised for allegedly using derogatory language towards women, which led to an official summons for Singh to appear before the panel on August 11, 2025. The Commission has also summoned singer Karan Aujla over the lyrics in his track MF Gabhru, following a similar outcry.
Singh’s new song, One Thousand Miles, which was originally featured on his 2014 album Desi Kalakaar, continues the narrative-driven approach that fans have come to expect. The music video for the song, released today, features Singh playing a version of himself haunted by hallucinations of his deceased girlfriend, portrayed by Mandy Takhar. The six-and-a-half-minute video follows Singh’s character as he receives a call from his late girlfriend, asking him to visit her. The story concludes with him in a therapy session, where he receives another call, hinting at a never-ending loop of his past and present intersecting.
Singh’s 2024 comeback album Glory, which features songs like Payal, Jatt Mehkma, Bonita, and High On Me, also includes Millionaire. Despite the ongoing controversy, Singh continues to release music, with One Thousand Miles marking a notable moment in his return to the industry after several years of being away.
The rapper’s decision to release the music video amid the legal scrutiny is notable, as it showcases Singh’s resilience and his focus on his music career, despite the recent challenges. Whether the controversy surrounding Millionaire will have a lasting effect on Singh’s reputation or career remains to be seen, but for now, One Thousand Miles has captured the attention of his fans, with the song’s release showing that Singh is eager to keep pushing forward.
