“Good Clean Fun” – Maddie Medley’s Mesmerising Visuals Capture the Essence of Falling in Love

Denver-based indie-folk artist Maddie Medley has unveiled the video for her latest track, “Good Clean Fun.”

Co-directed by Medley herself and Curtis Wayne Millard, the video is a lush, dreamlike celebration of falling in love—surreal, cinematic, and brimming with the rediscovered wonder that love can bring. It’s an exploration of the deep, sometimes hidden emotions that surface when we open ourselves to intimacy.

“I wanted the ‘Good Clean Fun’ video to capture how surreal and fun it can be to fall in love; how it can bring all these beautiful, strange, buried feelings to the surface,” Medley explains. The video achieves this by presenting a series of vignettes, each one evoking the heady rush of intimacy, trust, and the thrill of being vulnerable with another person.

The video’s wardrobe was sourced from vintage and costume shops across Denver, Kansas City, and Nashville, adding a textured, nostalgic feeling to the story. The scenes are shot through Millard’s signature dream lens, suspending time and space, which is a hallmark of his visual style. This approach gives the video a sense of being caught between memory and fantasy, creating a world where the line between reality and dream is delightfully blurred. It’s an artistic interpretation of the song’s theme of love as an alternate reality, where time and emotions feel suspended in a beautiful, surreal way.

Throughout the video, a quiet presence known as “Teardrop” makes an appearance—a character whose backstory will be explored further in Medley’s upcoming projects. For now, Teardrop remains an enigmatic figure, adding a mysterious thread that ties this particular chapter of Medley’s storytelling together.
