Lisa, a member of the popular K-pop group Blackpink, is returning to the screen very soon. On Thursday, Netflix authorities announced that they will release an action-thriller film named ‘Tygo’, which is essentially a spin-off of their hit franchise ‘Extraction’. Alongside Lisa, the film will star renowned Korean actor Don Lee and ‘Squid Game’ series actor Lee Jin-uk. Regarding her new journey, Lisa stated in a release that she feels extremely honoured to be a part of this project. Praising her co-stars, she said she is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors. Lisa mentioned that being in an action film has always been a dream of hers, and for her first movie role to be in such an exciting action film is akin to a dream coming true.
The film is being directed by Lee Sang-yong. The story revolves around a character named Tygo, a former child soldier. Following a mission that goes wrongly, he becomes determined to seek revenge against Korea’s underworld. Angela Russo-Otstot, producer and chief creative officer of AGBO, said they are thrilled to present the Extraction world through a South Korean context. She added that teaming up with legendary action star Don Lee and director Lee Sang-yong, along with their dynamic choreography, exemplifies the world-class craft of Korean cinema. The films in the Extraction series are based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’, written by Anthony and Joe Russo and Ande Parks.
