Eid Buzz Grows for Malik

As the festive season of Eid-ul-Azha approaches, an air of celebration is steadily building within Bangladesh’s film industry, with renewed excitement centring on the much-anticipated feature film Malik, starring Arifin Shuvoo. After a long wait for its release, the film has once again drawn significant public attention, particularly following the unveiling of its elaborate dance sequence and song titled “Gulguli Pitha”, which has further heightened audience curiosity.

The sequence was recently completed at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (FDC) studio premises, where a grand-scale set was constructed specifically for the production. According to those involved, the performance features nearly two hundred dancers, creating a visually rich and festive spectacle designed to reflect the celebratory tone associated with Eid cinema releases.

Leading actors Arifin Shuvoo and Vidya Sinha Mim also appear prominently in the sequence. Their on-screen presence and choreography have reportedly added emotional depth and energy to the musical piece, contributing to its role as a key highlight within the film.

The production team has emphasised that “Gulguli Pitha” is not merely an entertainment segment but an integral narrative device within the film. Through a combination of lighting design, vibrant set aesthetics, and carefully structured choreography, the sequence has been positioned as one of the central attractions of Malik. The filmmakers have also indicated that several visual surprises have been incorporated, though details remain undisclosed ahead of release.

The song features vocals by Mila Islam and Pratik Hasan, with lyrics written by Lutfar Hasan. Music composition and arrangement have been handled by Adit Rahman. The creative team has blended contemporary musical elements with traditional influences, aiming to ensure that the song aligns closely with the film’s broader thematic structure.

Director Saif Chandan has stated that every segment of the film, including its musical sequences, has been developed with equal creative importance. He explained that the dance number serves not only as a visual spectacle but also as a storytelling component that enhances the emotional progression of the narrative.

Notably, Malik also marks the on-screen reunion of Arifin Shuvoo and Vidya Sinha Mim after approximately four years. The pair previously shared screen space in the film Shapludu, and their return as co-stars has generated additional interest among audiences.

If production schedules remain unchanged, Malik is expected to be released in cinemas during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha season. Industry stakeholders are optimistic that the film will resonate strongly with holiday audiences and perform well at the box office.
