Bad Bunny Breaks Global Streaming Records

San Francisco: Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny has made global music history following his headline performance at the Super Bowl halftime show. Data released by Apple Music indicates that within hours of the broadcast, streams of Bad Bunny’s songs and albums surged to unprecedented levels.

Apple Music, one of the producers and sponsors of the halftime show, announced on Monday that Bad Bunny’s performance instantly became the most-played setlist on the platform. Impressively, 23 of his songs entered the Daily Top 100 Global chart, with nine tracks reaching the Top 25 and five breaking into the Top 10. Notably, his hit single “DtMF” claimed the number-one spot.

The Super Bowl effect also revived several of his older tracks. Of the 23 charting songs, six re-entered the Daily Top 100 for the first time since at least February 2025. Among these, “I Like It”—a collaboration with Cardi B and J Balvin—returned to the charts for the first time since January 2020, underlining the enduring appeal of his earlier hits.

Bad Bunny’s influence extends far beyond the United States. His album Debí Tirar Más Fotos entered album charts in 155 countries on Monday, reaching the Top 10 in 128 countries and claiming the number-one position in 46. Key countries where he topped the charts include:

In the United States, Apple Music reported that, based on six days of streaming data, the cities with the highest concentration of listeners were Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Dallas.

The effect was equally dramatic on the music discovery platform Shazam. Apple Music confirmed that Bad Bunny’s performance set a new single-day record for a Latin or non-English artist on Shazam. Recognition of his songs rose by 400% during and after the halftime show compared with the daily average. Among the most Shazam’d tracks were “Die with a Smile” (featuring Lady Gaga) and “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii” (featuring Ricky Martin).

Oliver Schusser, Vice President at Apple Music, remarked, “Bad Bunny has been a presence on our platform since 2016. His global success is not surprising but entirely expected. Fans are incredibly enthusiastic, reflecting both his enormous impact and his contributions to music culture.”

This record-breaking Super Bowl performance not only drove streaming growth but also set a benchmark for connecting directly with international audiences. With multiple songs and albums now topping charts across the world, Bad Bunny has solidified his status as a global music icon.
