| Post Malone has claimed his first Country Music Association (CMA) Award, taking home the prize for Musical Event of the Year alongside Blake Shelton for their hit collaboration, “Pour Me a Drink.” The track, which topped the Billboard Country Airplay chart, features on Post Malone’s album F-1 Trillion and was produced by Louis Bell and Charlie Handsome. |
Malone is also nominated for Album of the Year at the CMA Awards later today for F-1 Trillion. The album made a striking debut at number one on the all-genre Billboard 200 last year and also topped the Top Country Albums chart, marking a milestone in his crossover into country music.
Other early winners included Riley Green and Ella Langley, whose Western movie-themed music video for “You Look Like You Love Me” was named CMA Music Video of the Year. The video was directed by Langley, John Park, and Wales Toney.
Langley is among the most nominated artists this year, tied with Megan Moroney and Lainey Wilson, each receiving six nominations. She is also up for New Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and both Single and Song of the Year for her collaboration with Green on “You Look Like You Love Me.”
This year’s CMA Awards promises an array of performances from major stars, including Kelsea Ballerini, BigXthaPlug, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley, Little Big Town, Patty Loveless, Megan Moroney, Old Dominion, The Red Clay Strays, and Shaboozey. Lainey Wilson will not only perform but will also take on solo hosting duties, following her previous co-hosting appearances with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.
