Carly Rae Jepsen is expecting her first child with husband Cole M.G.N. The Canadian singer-songwriter revealed the exciting news on Monday via an Instagram post, sharing a series of black-and-white photos showcasing her growing baby bump, which she hints may already be getting a little kick.
“Oh hi baby,” Jepsen, 39, wrote in the caption, accompanied by a heart emoji. Her husband, Cole Marsden Greif-Neill, 40, responded with an overwhelming display of affection, sharing multiple heart-eyes emojis to express his joy.
The couple, who tied the knot in October, had been trying to conceive while planning their wedding in New York. Jepsen and the Grammy-winning producer first met as collaborators in 2021, and their relationship blossomed into romance in 2022. They got engaged in September of that year.
In an interview with People in 2023, Jepsen shared that their first song together, “So Right” from her album The Loveliest Time, marked their “meet-cute” as a couple. “This is our first little baby out in the world,” Jepsen said at the time, teasing fans with the promise of more collaborations to come. “I think you’ll see a lot more of our collaboration together for future projects.”
Known worldwide for her 2012 smash hit “Call Me Maybe,” Jepsen recently marked the 10th anniversary of her critically acclaimed album Emotion with a sold-out show at the Troubadour, performing the album in its entirety. In a 2020 interview, Jepsen reflected on Emotion, saying, “‘Emotion’ was like an introduction to my authentic version of what pop music was. I was itching to share something different, because I knew that ‘Call Me Maybe’ wasn’t the only colour of what I had to offer.”
With a growing family and more music on the horizon, Jepsen’s fans can expect an exciting new chapter in both her personal life and her career.
