Renowned music arranger Fuad Al Muqtadir has once again showcased his exceptional talent in reimagining classic songs. This time, he has transformed five popular tracks from five celebrated Bangladeshi bands, presenting them with fresh arrangements and contemporary production. The project, titled “Touch of Gold”, has recently been released under the banner of Be Here Now, offering audiences a new way to experience these legendary compositions.
The five reimagined tracks feature a blend of original band members and contemporary artists:
| Original Song | Original Band | New Vocalist(s) | Key Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ghumnoto Shohore | LRB | Zohad Reza Chowdhury, Rayef Al Hasan Rafa, Shakib Chowdhury | Harmonised vocals, modern production |
| Adbhut Shei Cheleti | Orthoheen | Shakib Chowdhury | Emotional reinterpretation, contemporary sound |
| Shraboner Megh | Different Touch | Elita Karim | Lush orchestration, updated arrangement |
| Bhoboghure | Cryptic Fate | Rayef Al Hasan Rafa | Enhanced rhythm section, new instrumental textures |
| Rong | Watson Brothers | Zohad Reza Chowdhury | Layered harmonies, cinematic soundscape |
In this project, Shakib Chowdhury of Cryptic Fate lends his voice to Orthoheen’s Adbhut Shei Cheleti, while Elita Karim reinterprets Different Touch’s Shraboner Megh. Cryptic Fate’s Bhoboghure features vocals by Rayef Al Hasan Rafa, and Watson Brothers’ Rong is performed by Zohad Reza Chowdhury. LRB’s classic Ghumnoto Shohore brings together Zohad Reza Chowdhury, Rayef Al Hasan Rafa, and Shakib Chowdhury in a collaborative rendition.
Fuad Al Muqtadir explained the vision behind the project:
“When these songs were recorded in the 1990s, technology in our country was limited. We wanted to use today’s resources to present these compositions anew. While this is a recreation, younger listeners are experiencing these tracks as completely fresh. My team had full creative freedom, and I am proud of their dedication. We have delivered the songs exactly as we envisioned.”
Shakib Chowdhury reflected on the process:
“If I were twenty years younger, I might have worried that the originals were altered. But with experience, I see that these legendary songs have been rearranged thoughtfully to preserve their essence. Recreating them also encourages listeners to revisit the original tracks.”
Zohad Reza Chowdhury added, “We grew up listening to these songs. Now, with updated arrangements, they are reaching a new generation.”
Accompanying the musical releases, five music videos have been produced by Runout Films and directed by Adnan Al Rajib, each creatively reflecting the lyrics and mood of the respective song.
