Sombr Performs on SNL: Watch ‘12 to 12’ & ‘Back to Friends’

The singer-songwriter made his Saturday Night Live debut on 8th November alongside first-time host Nikki Glaser.

Sombr, the 20-year-old singer-songwriter, made his Saturday Night Live debut as the musical guest on 8th November.

He performed two tracks from his debut album I Barely Know Her — “12 to 12” and “Back to Friends.” The album, which charted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 in September, marked a major milestone in Sombr’s career.

Dressed in a sharp red suit and black shirt, the New York City native kicked off his performance with “12 to 12,” accompanied by a full band. Later, he returned to perform “Back to Friends” from behind the piano before stepping out for an emotional delivery.

Sombr, whose real name is Shane Boose, writes and produces all of his own songs and is having a breakout year. His debut album, I Barely Know Her, dropped in August and has already produced three Billboard Hot 100 hits. These include the top 20 singles “Back to Friends” (No. 12) and “Undressed” (No. 16), as well as “12 to 12,” which peaked at No. 41.

The musician, who recently earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, also wrapped up the North American leg of his first-ever headlining tour. The 31-show run, which sold out across the U.S. and Canada, saw venues upgraded to meet demand, with extra dates added in multiple cities, including a triumphant hometown finale in New York City.

The latest episode of the long-running NBC sketch show also featured comedian Nikki Glaser as host. Glaser, a first-time SNL host, will return to television in January to host the Golden Globe Awards on 11th January.

SNL will return on 15th November, with actor Glen Powell as host and musical guest Olivia Dean.
