Controversial Bangladeshi singer Moinul Ahsan Nobel has been arrested once more, following allegations of detaining a young woman under the pretext of marriage, subjecting her to harassment, and attempting to coerce the creation of indecent images. The incident has reignited public debate over the singer’s conduct and raised questions about celebrity accountability in Bangladesh.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Demra Thana, Inspector (Investigation) Murad Hossain, confirmed the arrest, stating, “There is an ongoing case against Nobel regarding the unlawful confinement and harassment of a young woman. The arrest was executed based on a court-issued warrant relating to that case.”
Nobel was apprehended on Monday, 23 February, at approximately 12:30 pm in the Bottola area under Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj. He is currently being held in Demra Thana custody while preparations are underway to produce him before the court.
Allegations and Case Background
According to police reports, Nobel allegedly lured the victim with promises of marriage and confined her for a day in his private studio. During this time, he reportedly attempted to coerce her into creating inappropriate photographs and videos. The victim filed a formal complaint on 13 August 2025.
Following a thorough investigation, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted its report to the court on 2 February 2026.
