Severe Mismanagement at Jubin Nautiyal Concert Leaves Many Injured

A concert by renowned singer Jubin Nautiyal at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala descended into chaos on Saturday, as spectators and critics raised serious concerns over extreme organisational lapses. Despite a massive turnout, security measures and crowd management were reportedly insufficient, putting attendees at risk.

The disorder began even before the performance, as large crowds amassed on the field. Overwhelmed by the number of spectators, security personnel closed all entry gates, which only intensified the tension. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and pushing, ultimately prompting police to intervene with a baton charge to restore order.

Observers emphasised that this was not an isolated incident. Previous reports of crowd management failures at concerts and large events indicate a recurring problem, highlighting the urgent need for stricter safety protocols, better planning, and effective security measures.

While Nautiyal’s performance itself proceeded without interruption, the experience for many attendees was marred by confusion and fear, sparking criticism of organisers and renewed concern over public safety at high-profile cultural events.
