Palash-Smriti Wedding Cancelled, Warning Issued Against Rumours

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and musician Palash Muchhal were set to marry on 23 November. Despite completing all formal preparations including mehendi and haldi, their wedding was suddenly cancelled. Initially, the cancellation was linked to Smriti’s father’s ill health, but various rumours soon spread on social media.

Smriti later confirmed on Instagram that her wedding with Palash had been called off. Meanwhile, Palash posted on his Instagram story that he wishes to move on from the past. Although he did not directly address the reason for the cancellation, he warned that legal action would be taken against anyone spreading unfounded rumours.

Palash wrote, “I have decided to move on in life and step back from personal relationships.” He added, “It is alarming how quickly people react to baseless rumours. Anyone spreading false and defamatory information about me will face legal measures from my team.”

After the cancellation, screenshots of conversations with another woman circulated on social media. Palash dismissed them as baseless. Indian media reported that a woman named Mary D’Costa claimed Palash had invited her to swim and expressed frustration for not spending more time with Smriti.

After the matter became public, both parties confirmed that the wedding had been cancelled. Palash issued a firm warning against rumourmongers and stated that legal action would be taken against anyone spreading false information.
