New Play ‘Café de Volte’ Set to Premiere on Stage

Max de Rosario, a highly skilled chef of Bengali Christian descent, runs a restaurant called Café de Volte. At the restaurant’s grand opening in the city of Jinjira, Max unexpectedly takes control of the fates of four distinguished citizens. However, Max isn’t seeking revenge, nor does he wish to deliver justice.

So, why this armed coup at an unremarkable time? What lies behind this mysterious act? The answer remains elusive. But one thing is certain – Max’s heart yearns for a personal crusade. In a world where the human soul becomes a court of law, one must be prepared to shed blood.

This intriguing thriller is the premise for the latest production from the newly formed Hunt Theatre. The play, titled Café de Volte, has been written and directed by Diana Marilin. The script is by Abid Hasan, while Tanveer Chowdhury has crafted the dialogue. The lighting design is by Mohammad Mokhlessur Rahman, sound and music design by Charles Chowdhury, with management by Jerome Madhu and costume design by Johana Suchona Das.
