“If it was up to me, I’d release the album before the tour even begins,” Miguel said. However, contractual obligations with RCA Records currently prevent him from sharing new material until late next year. This restriction, he argues, goes beyond mere timing; it reflects a deeper conflict about fairness and artistic autonomy.
“I would sooner release it independently than let them profit from a deal that isn’t fair,” Miguel admitted, highlighting tensions that many artists face within the music industry.
